H.O.T. concert of love in LA [march 2000] from soompi.com

This post is a recollection of screenshoots via the wayback machine of soompi.com and their information regarding the visit of H.O.T. 에이치오티  to the city of Los Angeles in March 2000. All of this is not available currently so I decided to share the finds here, since I wrote an article on my blog (click here) about this and partially showed the screenshoots, but to not make it longer than it already was, I cut some redundant or duplicate information.

'High-Five of Teenagers' is back in L.A. for a charity concert, with all proceeds benefiting House of Love, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for youth. The center is run by HOAM (House of Agape Mission), which is a Korean Christian organization.

AngelCD.com and Ford Motor Company will be sponsoring this event."

H.O.T's stay in LA

March 8th: HOT arrived at around 12:00. Some problems occurred with their VISA's and only Woo Hyuk and Tony got through. So the concert was ALMOST cancelled. Almost being the key word there. But they got a lawyer and that helped a whole bunch because well no duh they had the concert. The delay caused them to be beind in their schedule for about 2 to 3 hours. They were supposed to go to FM Seoul, but they relaxed and shopped.

March 9th: Hey HOT! HOT! What are you going to do next now that you made it through the airport? <HOT in unison> WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYLAND! <HOT smiling and having fun with Mickey> They also went to work after to FM Seoul.

Yep they went to Disneyland. If any of you guys gone, maybe you've seen them.

March 10th: Where should you go after DisneyLand? Hmm....How about...Sea World~! I don't think that the Goliath could conquer them. hehe.

SM auditions held.

Results of the SM auditions: Three people signed a contract with SM management. Their names are unavailable to me. For now.

March 11th: HOT autograph signing that started at 2:30 in the afternoon. It ended at about 4:30 PM. *Tony An lost his black bag. SM is stressing that it is very important that they have it returned for whoever might have taken it. Please contact me if you have information on it. Any information that is helpful to finding the bag will be rewarded with a dinner or lunch with HOT and SM will also give a gift too.* They were also spotted in their limo by Cyberzone and Players ~~> 2 places to be for korean ppl to hang @.

March 12: HOT concert. They woke up late that day. So whoever went there and saw the members arrive, they were hungry~! All for the fans they went to rehearse. Poor them. The concert started at about 8:00 and ended around 9:30. For your information, fans were there waiting for the best seats they could get at 6:00 in the morning.

March 13: Hee Jun left to be with his family for his b-day. The rest stayed til the night. They went to the Beverly Center and Melrose to shop around. I heard that Jae Won was wearing the HOT crew jacket all day. I bet that made all the fans HOt crew ppl happy =)"

La estancia de H.O.T. en Los Ángeles

8 de marzo: HOT llegó sobre las 12:00. Tuvieron algunos problemas con sus visas y solo Woo Hyuk y Tony lograron comunicarse. Así que el concierto CASI se canceló. Casi esla palabra clave. Pero contrataron a un abogado y eso les ayudó mucho porque, bueno, no duhh, tenían el concierto. El retraso los hizo estar atrasados durante unas 2 o 3 horas. Se suponía que iban a ir a FM Seúl, pero se relajaron y fueron de compras.

9 de marzo: ¡Hola, HOT! ¡HOT! ¿Qué vas a hacer ahora que pasaste por el aeropuerto? <HOT al unísono> ¡NOS VAMOS A DISNEYLAND! <HOT sonriendo y divirtiéndose con Mickey> También fueron a trabajar después de ir a FM Seúl.

Sí, fueron a Disneyland. Si alguno de ustedes fue, quizás los hayan visto.

10 de marzo: ¿Adónde deberían ir después de Disneyland? Mmm... ¿Qué tal... Sea World? No creo que Goliat pueda con ellos. Jeje.

Audiciones de SM realizadas.

Resultados de las audiciones de SM: Tres personas firmaron un contrato con la agencia de SM. No tengo sus nombres disponibles. Por ahora.

11 de marzo: Firma de autógrafos de HOT que comenzó a las 2:30 de la tarde y terminó sobre las 4:30 p. m. *Tony An perdió su bolso negro. SM insiste en que es muy importante que se lo devuelvan a quien lo haya robado. Por favor, contáctenme si tienen información al respecto. Cualquier información útil para encontrar el bolso será recompensada con una cena o almuerzo con HOT y SM también les dará un regalo.* También los vieron en su limusina por Cyberzone y Players ~~> Dos lugares para que la gente coreana se divierta.

12 de marzo: Concierto de HOT. Se despertaron tarde ese día. Así que quienquiera que haya ido y haya visto llegar a los miembros, ¡tenía hambre~! Fueron a ensayar solo por las fans. Pobres. El concierto empezó sobre las 8:00 y terminó sobre las 9:30. Para su información, las fans estaban allí esperando los mejores asientos desde las 6:00 de la mañana.

13 de marzo: Hee Jun se fue para pasar su cumpleaños con su familia. El resto se quedó hasta la noche. Fueron al Beverly Center y a Melrose a darse una vuelta. Escuché que Jae Won llevaba la chaqueta del staff de HOT todo el día. Seguro que eso hizo felices a todas las fans y staff HOT =)"

"Hey~! Whoever went to the HOT autograph signing and concert in LA!!! Want to know what was in the mysterious black bag???

Well some really mean and nasty person stole the black bag that was near Tony at the autograph signing. You guys might know all about this but here it is again. Okay, here's what it had: The black bag contained some of the SM's staff passports and airline tickets as well as Kang Ta's and Jae Won's. It also contained over 7,000 bucks in cash. As soon as they found out that they lost it, SM people went to the korean officials and applied for emergency passports.And here's another bad thing. HOT was supposed to stay in LA longer to find some new styles of music with various people for their 5th album but that was all cancelled!!! That is soooo sad. And I hope that whoever stole the bag would have a clear conscience and GIVE IT BACK!"

This comments were part of my investigation and finds regarding the event. You can find the direct link to the comments under each screenshoot, but I decided to share them here just in case the forum disappears, since more of my findings regarding this visit of the kpop group to LA were made thanks to the wayback machine.

"hehehe...well HOT's signing and concert was a complete success. they were so happy. I had alot of fun being at the autograph session and concert. CRAZY HOT FANS! i was a staff for angelcd and all the fans were going so crazy. they barely listened to any of the staffs at the signing and at the concert. it drove us staffs crazy! we yelled and yelled! and no one listened and listened. but i can understand, if i wasn't staff i wouldn't want to listen either..i would just want to get close to HOT as much as i could. people thought i was being so mean and rude..i just kept on hearing girls say behind my back, "B*tch! B*tch!" but i really didn't care because i was so busy fixing everything for HOT. it's hard being staff you know. if you were staff too, you would know what i'm talking about. and then someone stole the passport..that shows that whoever have done it has no respect for HOT what so ever. at the concert, there were alot of people..the seats were all bought and people had to stand of course. it was disaster. the concert started late because HOT wasn't done rehearsing and everyone was getting mad at HOT for being so late. and yeah, that was HOT's fault. i had fun at the signing and concert."

Pero la verdad es que no me importaba porque estaba muy ocupado arreglando todo para HOT. Es difícil ser miembro del equipo, ¿sabes? Si tú también lo fueras, sabrías de qué hablo. Y luego alguien robó el pasaporte... eso demuestra que quien lo hizo no tiene ningún respeto por HOT. en el concierto, había un montón de gente... los asientos estaban todos comprados y la gente tuvo que estar de pie, por supuesto. Fue un desastre. El concierto empezó tarde porque HOT no había terminado de ensayar y todos se estaban enojando con HOT por llegar tan tarde. Y sí, eso fue culpa de HOT. Me divertí en la firma de autógrafos y en el concierto."
